RockRidge Dairy proudly introduces the launch of DRINK MILK SO KIDS CAN TOO!
The Calgary Food Bank runs a Children’s Milk Program that provides fresh milk to children under 12, as well as nursing mothers, pregnant women have registered for regular milk servings. In Calgary, there is not enough fresh milk to meet the needs of the growing community. Join us in our mission to help raise funds for the Food Bank’s Children’s Milk Program. We would like to raise $7,000 to buy approximately 6,000 litres of Alberta milk that can be distributed to people with the highest need. If the campaign goal is met successfully within one year, it will be reset and continue on!
Rock Ridge Dairy’s Financial Commitment:
Rock Ridge Dairy is donating 2.5 cents from every litre of milk sold to the cause. The more you “Drink Rock Ridge Dairy Organic Milk”, the more money we can donate to the Food Bank “So Kids Can Too!”
PLEASE NOTE: Rock Ridge Dairy does not sell The Food Bank their milk for their current program. In no way is Rock Ridge Dairy benefiting financially from donations. Since organic milk is more expensive than conventional milk to process it is more financially feasible to serve conventional milk, reaching more children.
Private Citizen’s Commitment:
We ask that private citizens make a donation of $20 or more. Donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt from the Calgary Food Bank in the mail.
All corporate partners will be listed on our Corporate Donors list with a link to the sponsor’s website. Charitable receipts are available upon request. Corporations will also be mailed a special certificate that can be hung proudly on an office wall.

Here we are on the brink of finally starting our new organic milk product line. Just a few loose ends to tie up and we should be able to start soon. Somehow I can’t help but wish we could fast forward to the point where we are loading the milk onto the truck and off to the stores. I really want to thank the stores that have supported this new venture of ours. It is hard to find people who will support business start up effort. We realize it can be just as easy to maintain the status quo and not bring in a new product. Change takes time, risk, work and money. So for all those who have decided to carry our products- THANK-YOU!!!!
Christmas was a busy time for us. We were busy gearing up our Organic Cow Milk product line for the 2013 New Year. We did our first run of cow milk in time for the Christmas food hamper program run by the Edmonton and Calgary Food Banks.
We personally visited both the Edmonton and Calgary Food Banks and dropped off a donation of 1600 litres. We very impressed by the size, scope and efficiency of the cities food banks. The positive response and appreciation for our donation from the food banks in both locations was truly heartwarming. Apparently the Food Banks don’t get milk donations very often. The Calgary Food Bank stated that they spend $300,000 per year on milk alone. Edmonton has been financially unable to provide milk to their clients at all.
I left feeling quite humbled by the whole experience. We recognized that the Food Bank staff all make a tremendous effort to ensure their clients’ needs are met. I felt truly blessed to be able to make a donation this year. Every gift no matter how small does make a difference. I sincerely hope we are financially able to make another milk donation near future.
